Motion Device released its second music video from the new MDIV album this past Friday, October 23, 2020. The band dove back into music videos on September 4th when they released the final track of the new album ‘VOID’ on Youtube. Always looking to step in a slightly different direction MD thought it might be cool to start with the end of the album to kind of give their Youtube fans a taste of where they ended up during this latest musical journey.

The plan is to continue to release as many music videos as they possibly can during the next few months in support of MDIV. As many of their fans already know, the band’s most recent crowd-funding campaign not only helped fund the new album but also a brand new recording studio. As a result Sara, Josh, Andrea and David thought it would be fitting to shoot the second music video in the space their fans helped them build.

It also felt right this time to stay away from music video themes or storylines and give the fans what they want to see most – the band performing the music. So back to the beginning of the album we go (minus Andrea’s short piano intro ‘The Pill’) with ‘Blindfold It Away’… the first song that began the writing process for Motion Device IV.

The most anticipated album from Motion Device is finally here. Motion Device IV is the culmination of music that Sara, Josh, Andrea and David began writing in early 2019. After another successful crowd-funding campaign in October of that year, the band put a large portion of the funding towards the building of a brand new recording studio.

Everything you hear on MDIV was written, arranged, performed, recorded, produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Motion Device. Thank you to all the fans for believing in our independence and backing our dreams… you made MDIV a reality.

Greetings Motion Device fans, warriors and backers. While humans all over the earth deal with a world-wide pandemic, the effect it has had on the recording of this album has been paramount. We’ve all been given so much to deal with in these difficult times but the one positive thing Motion Device has been given as a result of everything that’s going on can be summed up in one word – TIME.

First let us begin with the not-so-good news…

It should be fairly obvious to everyone that the production of most rewards associated with the MDIV Kickstarter campaign will be delayed for at least a month or two. Almost all non-essential businesses have come to a complete halt and it’s impossible to say when those businesses will be operating again. This directly effects the manufacturing of many of your rewards including the bandanas, bumper stickers, t-shirts, hoodies, the MDIV vinyl records and of course the physical copies of the CDs. As we continue to push through the recording process we planned to get most of those rewards ready during March and April but that now has to wait until it’s safe for businesses to get back to work. We’re hoping that happens sooner than later and all we can ask for from all of you is patience. It will get done and every single one of you will receive the rewards you deserve for funding this project.

Now for the good news…

All of us, including the band and management, knew going into this, that producing, recording, mixing and mastering this MDIV album in our own studio would be a very unique and difficult task. Pushing the creative envelope to bring our music to a brand new level is one thing and we’re good with that – it’s what we do. Learning how to use the studio equipment we now have, while at the same time researching and studying with our own ears how to capture and shape the sound we’re looking for – that’s a whole new ballgame. There are many resources all over the internet that have helped us immensely through this journey. Yet, we have heard that the only true way to make this happen is you have to go through the process of letting your ears develop enough to know what makes a great sounding album.

The only way that becomes possible is having the TIME to do it and we now have that luxury.

For the first time ever we have the time (and we’re quickly developing the ability) to really make this album the best it can be. We’re in the studio almost every minute of the day, putting as many hours as we can into the new material and there’s no doubt in our minds that the results will end up shining through. Getting the extra time to learn to mix and master the recordings will be huge in the long run and we’ll need every moment to help ensure we end up completely satisfied with the final product – we know our fans wouldn’t want it any other way.

AND the best news of all…

While the pandemic delays the production of your rewards, there will be nothing stopping us from getting the music completed before the rewards become available. We may not be ready this month but we will do our absolute best to have digital files ready as soon as we possibly can. The official release date of the album will be announced the very moment we have one and we will make sure to get the advanced digital download in your hands before that date arrives.

All we can ask from all of you right now is understanding and patience. Something we’ve all been learning a lot about over the last few weeks. Stay safe and be kind to each other.

Many thanks to all of you for making MDIV possible.

Sara, Josh, Andrea, David
& Motion Device Management

Thanks to our loyal and passionate fan base the band’s MDIV Kickstarter campaign was successfully completed on October 21, 2019. The campaign was our most successful to date and we would like to take this time to thank every fan, from all corners of the earth, for your support… you are the reason we’ve made it this far.

Most of the material for the new album has been written and we’re now getting close to completing the construction of our brand new recording studio. We look forward to spending many hours getting this album recorded, then mixed and mastered over the next few months.

Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates and for those of you who didn’t get the chance to join our crowd-funding campaign last month, four of the exclusive fan pack bundles are now available in our store – you can pre-order them HERE.

Love, peace & happiness to ALL.

Our newest crowd-funding campaign ‘Motion Device IV: A Self-Produced Album‘ was launched last Friday on Kickstarter.

This project is about two main goals the first one being the release of the band’s fourth studio album: MDIV. The album will be self-titled so we thought the ‘IV’ would be a good way to differentiate it from our previous releases. Many of you might end up referring to it as ‘The Red Album’ as well (once we reveal the album cover artwork). Regardless, the band is very excited about the new material and we all feel the new songs will reveal how far the songwriting and musicianship has come over the last couple of years. We’re always looking to move in new and different directions with our music and we think our fans will be pleasantly surprised with the results – MDIV will truly represent the band’s sound coming into its own.

This project’s second main goal is something that we’ve been thinking about for a long time – building our own recording studio. There’s no doubt that it will be a huge advantage for the band to have a real recording studio at our disposal. It’s the only part that’s keeping us from having unlimited freedom to experiment with our music and not be constrained by deadlines and budget. Simply put, the music we put out will be completely to our satisfaction and that’s the way it should be.

Take a moment to check out our Kickstarter campaign page. There’s tons of unique rewards available including exclusive MD merchandise and gear – JOIN US!!

As the band begins writing new material for their next album scheduled to be released in 2019, we thought this past Halloween would be the perfect day to release Motion Device’s title track from their double-CD concept album ‘Wide Awake’.

It’s our way of saying THANK YOU to our loyal and passionate fans and giving them what we think is our best music video to date. In our opinion it’s the perfect way to close the chapter on our ‘Wide Awake’ album and turn the page to the future.

Looking forward to a wicked 2019… ENJOY!!

Thanks to our loyal and passionate fans another successful Kickstarter campaign is in the books and WE’RE HEADED TO AMERICA!!

As many of you already know, our independence means everything to us and thanks to you this rock & roll journey continues to grow bigger and stronger everyday. Not only have our fans fully funded all three of our previous album releases but this time people everywhere, not just the cities we’re playing in, contributed to the ‘High Road’ tour campaign. The response was simply overwhelming and we can’t say thank you enough. We’re hoping this tour paves the way for a lot more shows and tours in the future.

MDKSPIC

As a Kickstarter bonus reward all backers of the campaign will also receive digital downloads or physical copies of our new album coming out in 2019.

THANK YOU for your support and we hope to see you in the U.S.A.!!

Motion Device launched it’s fourth Kickstarter campaign in four years last month but this time the funding goal is very different.  The band has decided to embark on a first-time mini U.S. tour that will be bringing the band to Indianapolis, Atlanta and New York. Since remaining independent and accomplishing so much with their fans has become such an important part of their journey, the band has fittingly called this project the ‘HIGH ROAD’ tour.

So far, fans in the U.S. and all over the globe have been making donations to the campaign which is currently 92% funded.  The campaign still has 12 days left so there’s plenty of time to make this tour a reality…. PLUS… Motion Device is also looking to use some of the funding for the release of a new album – something every person backing this ‘High Road’ tour campaign will receive in 2019!!

So if you haven’t checked out the Kickstarter page, CLICK HERE, watch the promo video (which we think you’ll get a kick out of) and make a donation – Motion Device is hoping this tour will lead to a lot more shows in the U.S. and quite possibly Europe and beyond!!

You can also check out the promo video on Youtube below:

‘Alive’ is the first track from our ‘Wide Awake’ album and thanks to the support of our fans and Kickstarter backers, we have released a music video to go along with the song on Youtube. We took our time to create something a little different for this visual experience. It was our goal to give MD fans a good feel for what this concept album is about and we think we achieved it with ‘Alive’. The purpose of this song is to welcome the listener to the musical journey that’s about to take place on ‘Wide Awake’.

Once again we thank all of you for making this video and album a reality… stay tuned for more news coming soon. ENJOY!!

It’s been four months since the crowd-funding campaign concluded and the band stepped into Phase One Studios to record their newest double-CD concept album ‘Wide Awake’. This journey has been an incredible one to say the least.

On July 15th the fans will get a chance to hear the results of their support and the blood, sweat and tears Sara, Josh, Andrea and David put into the making of this new material. We cannot express how much it means to the band and their management team to receive support from so many fans all over the globe – it was truly overwhelming.

As we begin to put together and ship out backer rewards and the album is about to be officially released, it’s now time to focus on something the fans have wanted for a very long time… live shows!! Stay tuned for upcoming live events on our shows page with the first one coming at the Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls, ON, Canada on July 29th, 2017, where the complete ‘Wide Awake’ album will be played in its entirety.

We officially launched our band new Kickstarter campaign on January 19, 2017.

After dealing with music industry executives and having talks with some big name record labels, producers and recording engineers over the last couple years, we decided it was best for everyone involved to keep things under our control and work with the ones that mean the most to us… OUR FANS.

‘Wide Awake’ will easily be our most ambitious project to date. We started writing material for this album over a year ago and as the songs began pouring out we realized there was going to be a lot of music. The idea of a concept album was something the band was very excited about so we thought why not do it now while we’re growing and learning so much about the world around us. As the story and the music began to unfold we decided the songs were going to be perfectly suited for a double-CD album.

Most importantly we left it in the capable hands of our loyal fans to make this new dream become reality. The campaign is only a couple days old and we’re well on our way to reaching our goal. We have some very ambitious stretch goals in mind if we reach our first funding plateau so keep in touch for updates on our website, the Kickstarter project page and of course on Facebook.

To get an idea of what ‘Wide Awake’ is all about watch the video below or just visit our Kickstarter campaign… join us on our journey to WAKE THIS WORLD UP!!

We’ve spent the last couple years speaking with many music industry professionals including record label executives and some big-name producers and recording engineers. We have realized that they all have something very much in common – they want control – something Motion Device is not prepared to give up. That’s the reason we decided to do this our way, which we strongly feel is the best way for us and our fans. Besides the music… and the blood, sweat and tears, the only other thing we need is…YOU. With the help of our faithful fans and warriors, we’ll be looking to record a double-CD concept album called ‘Wide Awake’ which will be scheduled for release in the summer of 2017.

Motion Device’s new website has officially been launched!! We’ve created a completely new look with a few new bells and whistles to boot. Loads of band pics have been added to the photos page along with band bios, videos, music, show dates, social media links and even a site-wide music player located at the bottom of the page so you can listen to a few of your fave songs from the band’s latest album ‘Eternalize’.

The website will be a constant work in progress with lots of focus on news posts to keep you up to date with the band. We will slowly be archiving past news events as well so fans can check out everything that’s happened since the beginning.

Welcome to the new age of rock & roll people… it’s gonna be a wicked ride!!

Motion Device has been working on a ton of new original material over the past few months. In addition to rehearsing for live gigs, the band is focused on laying down as many demo tracks as possible at the home studio to prepare for their next album. Currently they have about 10 new songs written with another 10-15 in the works. The idea of a ‘concept’ album has been in the minds of the band members for quite some time so the tunes they are writing are leaning towards a theme that will lend itself to that goal.

The above video is a short clip of the first demo recording of ‘Divided’… ENJOY!!

10millionMDYT

A very big thank you to all the fans and Youtube subscribers for helping Motion Device reach 10,000,000 views on their channel. It’s safe to say that the band wouldn’t be where it is today without the opportunity to upload videos of their favorite rock and metal covers over the past five years. Youtube has recently proven to be an even more valuable tool now that Motion Device is strictly focusing on original music.

We can’t tell you how many times fans have contacted us through email or social media and told us that they had just been introduced to the band through Youtube. More often than not new fans have found themselves spending hours upon hours on the band’s channel watching video after video. Along with Facebook and Twitter the band has continuously grown its online fan base which has now reached more than 70,000 fans. On Youtube alone Motion Device averages more than 10,000 views a day.

If you haven’t had the chance yet, visit their Youtube channel HERE.

Motion Device sisters Sara and Andrea cover the Scorpion’s classic ‘Wind of Change’. It’s a perfect song for a band that’s going through a lot of changes and moving forward from doing covers with their main focus on writing new original material.

Time for change indeed…
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Official statement from Motion Device:

First and foremost we wish our long-time guitarist Alex DeFrancesco the best of luck – he will be missed. Alex’s decision to leave the band was a very tough one, we are sure of that. Musicians almost always come to a crossroad when it comes to balancing music with another career. That time came for Alex and he made his decision.

Motion Device will not be replacing Alex. As far as Andrea, David, Sara and management are concerned there is only one man that fits the bill when it comes to playing guitar for the band and that man is Josh. He has taken the bull by the horns so to speak, writing tons of new material along with his band mates, and can’t wait to unleash the band’s new music onto the masses.

In the words of Queen’s late, great, Freddie Mercury… ‘the show must go on’… and what a show it will be.

LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL
Motion Device

Motion Device brought their live show to the U.S. for the first time on July 25, 2015. The Brothers Lounge in Cleveland, Ohio was the setting for this historic event. Along with fans from Canada and even Norway, people came from all over the U.S. driving as much as 10 hours to see the band live for the first time. Motion Device had a wicked time playing a show that they’ll remember for a long time to come.

In addition to the live gig the band hosted a ‘meet & greet’ before the show where V.I.P. members spent time with the band taking pics and getting merchandise signed.
